MY QUICK REFERENCE CHECK LIST

Documents: 

  • Valid Passport (check the validity requirements of the places you are visiting)

  • Entry visa (if required)

  • Paper copy of e ticket ( in case of electronic malfunctions)you

  • Vouchers - Hotel /Car /Transfer / Tour / Cruise (to be presented)

  • Insurance – cancellation / emergency medical

Additional Documents (if required)

  • Consent letter which proves your right to accompany children traveling with you (Government of Canada form)
  • International driver’s permit

Your Flight

  • In case of any schedule changes check on your flight 72 hours prior to departure for international flights and 24 hours prior to departure for domestic flights
  • Check in online or with your mobile device anytime within 24 hours of your departure..You can also print your boarding pass ahead of time, receive an electronic version of it on your mobile device or if you prefer, check in at the airport on your flight date
  • Be at the airport ON TIME -Familiarize yourself with official deadlines for check-in and boarding. Build in the proper travel time required to arrive at the airport. Failure to meet required times can result in reassigned seating and cancellation of your flight

Baggage allowance

Before you pack, check the baggage and weight allowance that you are entitled to. If you require additional weight than allowed, you will be subject to additional charges

Packing Tips

  • Always pack valuable items such as money, travel documents car keys and medication in your carry-on baggage so you do not risk losing them
  • Pack an extra set of clothes in your carry-on
  • Bring some snacks
  • Leave gifts unwrapped
  • Check the voltage of the places you are visiting and pack an adaptor
  • Purchase luggage locks that can be opened by airport security agencies

  • Travel alerts and advisories
  • Check if the places you are visiting have entrance/exit fees
  • Know ahead of time what you are entitled to bring home

Health Tips: Illness and injury is unforeseen

  • Whether you’re travelling outside of your province, to the USA, down south or overseas, Viet-net strongly recommends you that you purchase emergency medical insurance
  • Always bring additional medications and supplies in case your trip extends. Bring a copy of your prescriptions and any medical certificates. Medication must be properly labelled or accompanied by a prescription and should be packed in your carry on
  • Check if the places you are traveling to have immunization requirements and if they do - keep a copy of your immunization records with you

Money tips

  • Contact your credit card and bank to inform them that you will be using your credit card abroad
  • Always carry local money with you. Exchange some money before you leave with the best exchange rates available
  • Use a separate credit card with a LOW limit for vacations
  • Remember to keep your receipts from all purchases

Before You Leave Your Home

  • Avoid travelling with items you cannot replace if damaged or stolen
  • Place your mail and newspapers on hold or have someone pick them up for you
  • Contact your cell phone provider to inform them of your travel plans
  • Set a timer for lights and arrange for a friend or family member to check on your home
  • Provide someone at home with your travel itinerary and details, as well as copies of your passport and other travel documents
